Well, despite it raining cats and dogs, we had a good turnout at the Spring Bloggers meetup last night. Probably best to call it a social from now on I think. Plenty of new faces and a handful of old which made for an interesting mix. We’ve actually grown to around 160 members now which is nice. The bad news is that I was pretty sick and had to slope off home early doors (which is when the snap above was taken). Still, I had time to have a chat with Peter about a new project he’s working on, Andy Roberts, Matt from Londonist (who has promised to speak about Londonist at one of the next events), the lovely Jaz , Chris, Jurga , Rajesh, fabulous Francine, Tim, Malcolm Eggs and many more. Keep on coming folks. I’m hoping that I’ll be at least healthy next time and possibly with some more of those free beers we’ve had in the past. If anyone got any good photos last night, or a reasonable idea of how many people attended, please drop me a line. Cheers! Andy

With less than a week to go before the next bloggers’ meetup we’ve got a full house. That’s right, all 60 places have been snapped up, which means we’re all set for a cracking night. We don’t have a sponsor yet though, so if you represent a company and would like to help a bunch of friendly bloggers get into the spirit of things – i.e. buy us a few drinks – then do feel free to get in touch. Our friendly legal expert Mr Robert Lands – a Partner at law firm Finers Stephens Innocent LLP no less – delivered a fantastic presentation all about the legal issues us bloggers need to know about.

Some fantastic developments for the next London Bloggers Meetup – on March 25th – you might like to hear about: 1. the free drinks are back (woo hoo!), courtesy of our great friends at Qype 2. the ‘reviews = booze’ competition is also back so yet another chance to win a case of wine, again thanks to Qype 3. We have a new supporter on board with Buzzspotr – essentially a social messaging system mashup with Twitter, Google maps etc – who will be demo-ing on the night 4. We also now have over 100 members of the group – which means our little community is no longer so little – please all keep blogging about us and encouraging conversation and participation 5. I’ve also been talking to one or two folks about coming along and presenting on the night. Whilst nothing is guaranteed, I may have a legal beagle coming along who will help you all to understand your rights and responsibilities as bloggers.
