London on the inside

Time for another blogger interview. This week we’re talking to Jules and Ben from London On the Inside. If you haven’t seen their blog before it’s well worth a moment of your time. Particularly if you have any interest in music, social, fashion, design and all things London.

Without wanting to sing their praises too much, the design, look and feel of this blog really suits the topic and their overall style. They use high quality images liberally which makes it a very easy blog to enjoy.

Anyway, take a look and make up your own mind. Oh and enjoy the interview too…

What’s your blog called and what’s the URL?

London On The Inside
www.londontheinside.com

What’s your blog all about (in 20 words or less)?

We are all about the hippest trends, coolest bands, social events and industry secrets.

When and why did you start blogging?

Started blogger about 2 and a half years ago. We initially started to blog about the stuff we were interested in doing in and around London as there wasn’t a platform we knew about that catered for the things we were into…

Which blog platform do you use?

We use Blogger at the moment, there is however a big behind the scenes migration about to commence to take us over to WordPress…long story.

Can you give an example of how blogging has enriched your life?

Well put it this way, next week we are off to the Playboy Club for a private tour before dinner and then watching Two Door Cinema Club take to the stage, we’ve been able to stay in some amazing hotels all over the world, we’ve dined in some top notch restaurants and are sent products to review.

But it has also given us a goal in life and the motivation to work hard to make it happen, plus we have met some amazing people, some mad, some genius and some damn right scary.

Are there any blogs you recommend reading and why?

Too many, but we love ‘We Heart’ who are based in Manchester as their website is cool. We’re also fans of About London and The Faerietale Foodie because they are both top ladies!

What three tips would you give to someone just starting out in blogging?

1. Whatever you write about make it honest.

2. Read everything you can, talk and meet people, accept criticism, know that spell check is your best friend.

3. Most importantly….love what you do as it comes across in your writing.

If you could change one thing about your blog what would it be?

Well if we could start again knowing we’d be where we are now we’d change a lot…we didn’t expect or plan this to become such a big part of our life, our blog has many issues, plus our tech knowledge is pretty limited…but we’re on track to sort that. Our blog is street, like an ex junkie just out of rehab, he’s on the mend but has his vices.

What is the key to getting readers to your blog?

For us it is quality of content, it took a while to develop our style but we like to think our Northern sense of humour makes up a part of it. If we don’t find our own posts interesting or funny who else is going too.
